I've had a look, but I can't seem to find any reference to a 30 day limit; according to this TRNC official page "...authorized to issue a maximum of 90 days..." (my underline), while Wiki again states "up to 90 days" - reference is made to "...Visitors given less than 90 days..." but again, I can't find any other specific number of days...
Of course, all this may change when we leave the EU.....

Nothing to do with the EU! The TRNC is not a member of the EU.
It IS 30 days, and Turkish Cypriots travelling south (e.g. to work, for medical treatment, etc) have the same privilges regards
length of stay vis-a-vis driving licences.
They can drive on their TRNC licence for stays up to 30 days.

1. My (humorous) remark re the EU referred to the section on the linked TRNC page - "For the citizens of the European Union: A valid EU passport or national identity card is required"... If/when we leave, we will not be citizens of the EU....
2. "Due to the Cyprus dispute.... northern Cyprus is de jure part of the EU by virtue of de jure being part of the Republic of Cyprus." - google "TRNC part of EU".... Various projects in the TRNC (such as the Lapta walkway) have been funded by the EU. So the TRNC is (as part of the island/Republic of Cyprus) a "qualified" member of the EU.
3. Re "Turkish Cypriots travelling south...." - is this and only this where the 30 day limit applies? Because I still cannot find any mention of a specific 30 day limit...

There is a notice posted at the Famagusta crossing that clearly states 90 day visa. No mention of 30 days.

Went over to the south side yesterday, it is indeed 90 days now.

Thanks for that; we've been coming since 2011, and since 2015, we've been coming twice a year for 6-7 weeks each time so it was a little worrying as the powers-that-be appear to now be tightening up... :|

Regardless of a deal or no deal all NON-EU citizens can only go to EUROPA for MAX 90 days in every 180 ...
this will be enfored by the VISA WAIVER that UK citizens will have to get ...it will know if you have been or not
and will not let you have no time left ...

In the case of South Cyprus if you have a yellow slip (MEU1 form) this restriction does not apply.
For here in North Cyprus nothing changes with Brexit.

The YELLOW SLIP is for EU CITIZENS only - unless their is a deal then on paper all the
brits will have no legal status in the EU -and you will need a EU VISA WAVIER to enter the SOUTH (EU)

Wrong.
They (GCs) have said that if a Brit has an MEU1 whilst still in the EU, they will accept it for life.
You are correct though for new applicants after Brexit.
