Chinese House Restaurant

Postby helendj » Fri Apr 05, 2013 11:51 pm

My husband, daughter and her partner, and myself, went to the Chinese House restaurant last night. We were astounded - the food, the service, everything was exceptional - we all loved it. My husband who had rather a large meal himself, couldn't help but try everything else because it was all so freshly cooked and delicious!!! We all thoroughly enjoyed it - unfortunately my daughter and her partner are going back to England, but we will definitely be regular customers to this restaurant - it was a pleasure to be there, the service was wonderful, and the food excellent - who could want for anything more!

Drive towards Akinlar (fire shop),

Drive towards Akinlar (fire shop), which is just short of Nicosia roundabout, head straight from the roundabout towards the Wednesday market, keep straight, pass Jasmine Court, before you get to the design centre (where they do the pottery) and Hur Deniz, you'll find the Chinese House set back with very distinctive red paintwork. Hope you have a lovely meal there!

My husband and I ate

Postby Amanda » Mon Apr 15, 2013 9:54 pm

My husband and I ate here on Saturday night (13/04) and thoroughly enjoyed it. The decoration is authentic, it's not neon lit (like most restaurants) and the service was good. The food was also very tasty. Some of the dishes we had weren't quite the same as the fried stodge you get in England but actually tasted a lot fresher...a welcome change.
So no, it's not quite the same as your old ching chong takeaway, but for good ambiance, tasty food and an authentic setting, I highly recommend it!

p.s the crispy duck with pancakes was exactly like what I was used to...mmmmmm

We also go there regularly

Postby Sunshine » Mon Aug 05, 2013 7:14 pm

We also go there regularly when we are in Northern Cyprus, there is nothing to fault the owners are hands on and the rest of the staff who incidentally have been there for years are brilliant, we have been made to feel part of the family always welcomed enthusiastically on arrival and departure. Anyone who hasn't been are missing out as in our opinion this is the best Chinese Restaurant in the North and is very reasonably priced for such high quality food in fact it is a must to book as the place is nearly always full ............ that speaks for itself.

Know what you mean tansycat. Our last experience there has put us off re-visiting, the service was dreadful and the food mediocre, but the bill enormous! Glad to hear they've pulled their socks up!
