Time difference

Postby Billyboy » Tue Oct 24, 2017 3:58 pm

Hi all,
Just trying to confirm how the recent decision to abandon DST affects the time difference between North Cyprus and the U.K.
My understanding is:
From the end of October (last weekend) to the last weekend of March, NC will be 3hrs ahead of the U.K.
Between the end of March to the end of October, NC will be 2hrs ahead of the U.K.
This will continue for the foreseeable future.
Thanks in anticipation.
Bill

No, that was last winter, when the clocks were NOT put back in October - as a result, NC was three hours ahead of UK (and one hour ahead of South Cyprus!).
This year, the government has decided to NOT follow Turkey, but will put the clocks back as normal, so that NC will remain just two hours ahead of UK (and the same as the South).... :)

Thanks Gram
I was confused as I had booked flights from the UK in November and March. However, I received an email today telling me the return time has now changed. Presumably this is because of the decision to align the clocks with most of Europe and not Turkey.
I assume that the March flight times will also change in accordance.
Now, just looking forward to direct flights to Ercan!
