Missina fish Restaurant, Karaoglanoglu

Situated by the sea, behind Tempo Supermarket, Karaoglanoglu

We eat at Missina fish restaurant, last night; Saturday 8th December. An extremely well appointed restaurant specialising in fish but which also offers a range of other meat and poultry dishes. It also has the most impressive display of wines on offer in North Cyprus. A display of over 200 bottles of wines of predominantly Turkish in origin sits at the entrance to the restaurant. This should be extended to offer something like 50 varieties of South African wines, available from Cape Wines, Catalkoy in the new year.

Prices are exceptionally reasonable for a restaurant of this quality. There are two fixed menus on offer at 40TL and 45TL. However, we decided to go a la carte and our starters of garlic mussels and calamari, were not only delicious but also of great quantity. We both had rock sea bass for the main course, which was obviously fresh, well cooked and presented and plenty of it.

The price of the food was something over 100TL and we did take a very expensive bottle of wine but their price range starts from about 28TL. The whole experience was a culinary delight and I can't recommend this restaurant enough. It was the first visit for both of us and it certainly won't be the last.
