Magarina bulli restaurant/cafe

Postby Blue Butterfly » Fri Nov 16, 2012 12:41 am

Newly opened, serving TRADITIONAL CYPRUS FOOD.

We were warmly welcomed by Kenan, owner/chef and his wife Kezi, two friendly, english speaking ex london Cypriots.

They do, Cyprus kofte, firin makarna, grilled chicken, and seasonal vegetables, salads, chicken curry and soups.

Spoiled for choice we decided on the Sef Karisik Special, an assortment of everything.

I had the curry, bulgar with tomato and onion, kofte[8], vegetable kofte [2] and chips.

Hubby had, Bakla, [broad beans cooked with onion] roast chicken, rice, chips and kofte.

We could have had more, ie salad etc but our plates were overflowing.

The food was excellent, freshly cooked every day, the restaurant is spotlessly clean.

On the main road but far enough back to be comfortable.

We finished off with a complimentary square of yogurt tatlisi, light as a feather cake, made with yogurt and topped with coconut, not too sweet and not swimming in syrup.

All this plus an Ayran and a coke. Total 35tl

They have applied for their drinks licence for those who like a beer or wine with their meal.

At the minute they are open from 12 noon until the food finishes,

Highly recommend.

They do takeaway in the near vicinity.

LOCATION coming from alsancak/lapta, 100 metres from Karaoglanoglu Lemar, on the left hand side.

TEL NO 0392 822 28 00 or mobile 0533 8645075

Yes I would second that recommendation. We went there a couple of weeks ago. I believe it is one of a kind now here in Cyprus. We also had the chef special and it was great , all freshly made. I hope they do well. Lovely friendly family.

Been here today for lunch

Been here today for lunch - fully endorse what you say Blue butterfly!! Wonderful hospitality from Kezi and her husband, lovely meal, plenty of it, they prefer you to 'choose with your eyes' from what is on display rather than read the menu, which changes daily apart from a couple of standard things. They said they are open during the day over the Christmas period apart from the 1st January when they are closed, also I think they are currently shut Saturday and Sundays.

Will definately return!!
